We used to have a free, open 'small ads' section here. But due to spam and abuse we've decided to shut it down and instead link to these services.

Very nice and popular free classified website mixed in with email lists.

An email list for giving stuff away and/or finding stuff for free. High traffic list, but you can set it to 'digest' mode which is just super.

Free advertising for rooms/houses/to let/space in and around Cambridge.

Fridge Mountain is a free UK-wide service for giving and receiving unwanted stuff. Don't use it myself, but I think it started in Cambridge.
